With nearly three decades of teaching experience, Michelle Webb has dedicated 25 of those years to the Lake Travis Independent School District. She currently serves as the Director of the Cavalette and Red Ruby Dance Teams, alongside teaching Dance 1-4 at Lake Travis High School. Michelle began her teaching career in 1997 as the director of the Grand Prairie High School Geepettes. After two years, she returned to her roots in Austin, taking the helm of the Lake Travis Cavalettes in 1999. Under her leadership, the team has garnered numerous accolades, including State and National Championships.
In 2003, following the birth of her first child, Michelle made the tough choice to step down as Cavalette Director and transitioned to teaching dance at the middle school level. After a brief year at Mendez Middle School, she found her home at Hudson Bend Middle School in 2004, where she taught for 15 years. During her tenure, she founded the Hudson Bend Pom Squad and significantly expanded the dance program. Michelle also served as the Fine Arts Department Chair.
In 2019, Michelle embraced a new challenge when Lake Travis ISD opened its third middle school, Bee Cave Middle School. There, she launched the Raider Royalty Dance Team and took on the BCMS Cheer program in 2021, further enriching her connection with students. In April 2024, Michelle returned to her roots as the head director of the Cavalettes at Lake Travis High School, marking a full-circle moment in her career.
Beyond her teaching and directing roles, Michelle has worked with American Dance/Drill Team for six years, conducting summer camps and judging dance competitions across the nation. She is a member of the Texas Dance Educators Association and serves on the Rangerettes Forever Foundation Board of Directors.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University, where she was a proud member of the Orange Pride Dance Team and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Prior to that, she was part of the 52nd line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and dancing in Japan. A native of Austin, she attended Lanier High School, where she served as Junior Lieutenant and Captain of the Vikettes.
Passionate about dance, Michelle is grateful to teach in a district that values the Performing Arts as much as Lake Travis ISD. She has been happily married to her husband, Aaron, for 22 years and is the proud mother of two children: Morgan, a Senior at The University of Texas at Austin and former Cavalette member, and Cooper, a junior at LTHS who plays Varsity Football and Baseball for the Cavaliers. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys boating on Lake Travis, shopping, traveling, and crafting with family and friends.
