With nearly three decades of teaching experience, Michelle Webb has dedicated her career to dance education and to the students and families of Lake Travis Independent School District. She currently serves as the Director of the Cavalette and Red Ruby Dance Teams while teaching Dance 1-4 at Lake Travis High School.
Michelle began her teaching career in 1997 as the director of the Grand Prairie High School Geepettes. After two years, she returned to her hometown of Austin and took the helm of the Lake Travis Cavalettes in 1999. During her time as director, the team earned numerous accolades, including State and National Championships.
In 2003, following the birth of her first child, Michelle transitioned from directing to teaching dance at the middle school level. After one year at Mendez Middle School, she found her home at Hudson Bend Middle School in 2004, where she spent 15 years teaching and building the dance program. During her tenure, she founded the Hudson Bend Pom Squad, expanded the school’s dance offerings, and served as Fine Arts Department Chair.
In 2019, Michelle embraced a new challenge when Lake Travis ISD opened Bee Cave Middle School. She launched the Raider Royalty Dance Team and, in 2021, added the BCMS Cheer program to her responsibilities. These experiences allowed her to continue developing young dancers and strengthening her connection with students across the district.
In April 2024, Michelle returned to Lake Travis High School as the Director of the Cavalettes, marking a meaningful full-circle moment in her career. She is honored to lead the program while continuing to cultivate the tradition, excellence, and pride that have defined the Cavalettes for generations.
Beyond her roles in LTISD, Michelle has worked with American Dance/Drill Team for six years, conducting summer camps and judging dance competitions across the nation. She is a member of the Texas Dance Educators Association and has served on the Rangerettes Forever Foundation Board of Directors.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University, where she was a member of the Orange Pride Dance Team and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Prior to attending Sam Houston, she was a member of the 52nd line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and traveling to Japan. A native of Austin, Michelle attended Lanier High School, where she served as Junior Lieutenant and Captain of the Vikettes.
Michelle’s passion for dance education is rooted in her belief that the performing arts can shape confidence, character, discipline, and lasting connections. She is grateful to teach and lead in a district that values the performing arts and provides students with opportunities to grow both on and off the stage.
Michelle has been married to her husband, Aaron, for 24 years and is the proud mother of two children. Her daughter, Morgan, is a former Cavalette and full-time dance teacher. Her son, Cooper, is a freshman at The University of Texas, where he is a pitcher for the Longhorn baseball team. Outside of school, Michelle enjoys boating on Lake Travis, shopping, traveling, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
